STREET PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS ![]()
An introduction into digital photography, covering use of camera, speeds and apertures and giving you a chance to put your skills to the test while taking photographs in some of the most interesting locations around London. This course lasts two days and will cover technical aspects of photography as well as composition and reportage photography. PROGRAMME
1st Day The first day begins with an introductory session on digital photography, covering use of camera, speeds and apertures as well as composition. We will then move on to photograph various locations in London, while receiving feedback and learning new photographic techniques from your instructors. In the evening sunset pictures will be taken from beautiful locations within the city and you will learn how to be flexible working your camera in different lighting conditions.
2nd Day The following morning consists in an edit and critique session with your instructors to review the images that you took the previous day. These are very helpful and constructive sessions in which you will receive direct feedback on your work and how to improve your techniques. Our second photography session will commence before the lunch, we will try and get in some architecture, perhaps Battersea Power station and a bridge over the Thames or some other landmark of London.
The sessions will be from 11 am to 6 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 8 pm on Sunday.
PRICE: The cost includes: The cost does not include food & drink Camera Hire The rental tripod is a Gitzo 1340 with Markins ball head and is charged at a rate of £10 per day or £15 for the duration of a two-night workshop. Disclaimer We will not be responsible for any loss or damage to equipment. Please arrange insurance for your valuable camera kit.
In the daytime we may be shooting birds, deer and squirrels so shoes and clothes may get dirty. A cheap and light option is to pack some bin liners - they are good to kneel or lie down on if the ground is wet. To make the most of these workshops we strongly advise bringing a tripod. We cannot stress how important a tripod is for this workshop. If you are in the process of buying a tripod spend some good money on one. If you need advice please ask! If you do not want to commit to buying yet we do offer a tripod rental service, see prices page for more details. Remote shutter release would be beneficial although that is not necessary. We welcome owners of compact and SLR cameras. As we will be shooting night scenes, if you are an owner of a compact camera be sure to find out if it has a bulb setting for long exposures. If you do not own an SLR and would like to use one for this workshop we offer a rental service of a Canon EOS 20D complete with 50 mm lens. |
